Madam C J Walker – 1912 – Met MMB at the National Association of colored Women annual conference in Hampton Virgina. Volunteered to lead a fund-raising effort for Daytona Normal and Industrial Institute school’s benefit. This beginning led to a lifelong friendship. (1)
